How often have you said that you don’t wish to meet a person, only to end up meeting him/her again and again? Call it coincidence or sheer chance. But such occurrences do take place in our lives, often leading to consequences we had never imagined in our wildest dreams. When we reflect on such situations much later, we realise the significance of fate in our lives.
Meet communications expert Anjita Chaube, who believed that marrying a Leo was out of the question. Chaubey had her reasons. Indeed, quite a few of them. Recalls she, “I never ever got along with Leos, be it relatives or friends. I had developed a strong dislike towards them.” Then the seemingly impossible happened, making her determination go weak in the knees. She says with a smile, “As luck would have it, I ended up falling in love with a Leo man. It’s been one-and-a-half years. I am glad it came true as it’s been a blissful journey so far.”
Something similar happened with content developer Ankita Acharya, who did not want to leave India. “I wanted the guy to be from India as I never wanted to go out of the country and settle elsewhere. But here I am, living in California for the past six months post marriage. It’s going to be this way. I miss India but have no regrets whatsoever.”
You might hate a particular person or thing till life takes such turns that you get hooked to it. Imagine this. Shraddha Maheshwari was not only scared of dogs but their mere sight filled her with absolute disgust. Today, she has found a buddy in an Alsatian. “What I didn’t know was once my dad got a pup home, it would become my ‘new’ best pal. The first few months were horrible as I just couldn’t get used to the idea of a dog being at my place. But slowly, things changed and now, I can’t imagine my life without it.”
Many such incidents have had happy endings. But not everyone is that lucky. Hear engineer Mohit Sirwani, who had promised himself that he would never join the company he has been working in for the past one year. “My friends and colleagues had always warned me against joining this particular company as it’s infamous for putting unwanted pressure on its employees. But I got a tempting offer that I just couldn’t reject.” Ask him whether or not he is enjoying the work and he says, “Sometimes, it’s stressful because there is lot of politics here. I have developed a negative attitude.”
Aesha Parikh, soft skills trainer, feels that never is a word that should be never ever be used. “Through experiences, I have realised that whenever I say ‘I’ll never do something’, I end up doing it.” She is not the only one.
